The Opportunity

The Data Management and Data Loads Librarian (Physical and Electronic) works as a part of the Metadata team to describe the Library’s content and collections via large-scale data loads delivered by content providers and other content-capture processes (such as locally-created spreadsheets).

In this position you work collaboratively to ensure metadata is accurate, exchangeable, and supports discovery and access. This includes contributing data to national and international partnerships (such as Trove, HathiTrust, WorldCat, ISNI, VIAF) to support discovery and access in a global context.

You will have an ability to initiate and administer projects under direction, provide training and guidance to Library team members in the application of those projects, as well as analyse and resolve complex issues.

Working collaboratively, you will provide support to projects and events and undertake a variety of general duties to meet the operational demands of the Collections and Technology Division.

To achieve success in this temporary Data Management and Data Loads Librarian (Physical and Electronic) opportunity you will be able to demonstrate experience in the use of Alma Library Management System or similar, plus other library related systems for data management and maintenance work. Your keen problem solving capabilities will ensure you are able to support a varied range of data management, data load and quality assurance activities undertaken for both physical and electronic collections content.

If this sounds like a position that suits your current career focus we look forward to hearing from you.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
