About the opportunity

The Data Engineer works with the Manager, Data Engineering Practice, Integration Team members, Solution Architects, and various business stakeholders to develop and implement integration solutions to solve business challenges. The role is responsible for the design and development of data engineering solutions using the Informatica and Cloud platform and delivery of data projects that adhere to the established data Standards and Governance. The role will utilise extensive knowledge and strong experience with Informatica product suite as well as expert experience with Cloud technologies to perform detailed requirements analysis, data modelling, workflow development, testing, and deployment.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Develops and implements high quality, reusable, and maintainable solutions for ingesting, transforming, cleansing, storing, and managing large data sets from various sources using Informatica Tools
  • Ensures ETL’s are successfully implemented/deployed across environments, on-prem and/or on-cloud and work with other teams to accomplish all deliverables
  • Collaborates with the Integration Designer to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models
  • Participates in data transformation delivery and provides technical checkpoints to enforce standards and quality of integration solutions
  • Adheres to development best practices, integration governance and implementation of DevOps for data integration projects to ensure a smooth transition from project to BAU and creates documentation
  • Resolve production incidents, implement changes, and identify risk liability, ensuring adherence to ICT policies and procedures whilst doing so.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications - Information Technology or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Data Engineering Certifications - No Issuer
  • 5+ years’ experience with full Software Development Lifecycle methodologies, solid knowledge of PL/SQL, ETL and ELT approach, design, and implementation.
  • 5+ years’ experience with Informatica Power Centre/Informatica Cloud.
  • Experience in monitoring, automating and uplifting data warehouse outcomes using DevOps methodologies and toolsets, including GIT
  • Deep knowledge of Architecting and Engineering Cloud-based data solutions using Azure/GCP/AWS.
