  • Commencement Salary: $71,205 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role

Reporting to the Associate Professor: Centre for Change and Complexity in Learning (C3L), the Data Analytics Programmer will undertake data science and software development activities associated with the Centre for C3L research projects.

The C3L conducts research on the intersection of human and artificial learning across a wide range of education stakeholders including Government, Schools, Universities, and industry. The C3L explores how new knowledge processes and economic models influence how universities teach, how individuals learn and how employability skills are assessed and validated.

Education Futures is home to two world class research centres namely, the Centre for Research in Educational and Social Inclusion (CRESI) and Centre for Change and Complexity in Learning (C3L) .

Core Responsibilities

  • Proactively support and contribute to the design, development and implementation of high-quality data visualisations, predictive analytics, and machine learning models
  • Maintain software systems and program codes ensuring the needs to the researchers and stakeholders are met
  • Design and development of web-based systems and data analytics solutions for the project as required
  • Responsible for the performance management of the existing analytics systems and associated processes identifying limitations and deficiencies
  • Writing and maintaining code documentation and operational procedures for the developed analytics system

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Bachelors or a Masters degree in a relevant field or demonstrated equivalent knowledge with significant skills and experience in the field
  • Experience in the use of Python and R programming languages
  • Demonstrated experience with data visualisation software packages and business intelligence tools (Microsoft Power BI/R Shiny)
  • Experience in the development of software solutions using different cloud infrastructures such as Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse portfolio of individuals
