About Information and Digital Services 

Information and Digital Services (IDS) are a pivotal resource of the University, providing information and digital technology services and support to the Flinders University staff and student community. The IDS team apply technical expertise to support university projects and provide core services such as the IDS Service Desk, Audio visual, simulation and event services, Information security and identity access management services and more. 

 
About the Role 

We have multiple openings within our Information and Digital Services portfolio. As a critical part of the Planning, Data and Analytic team, the role is responsible for the design, development and implementation of data models and analytical assets for consumption by the relevant stakeholders and teams, in accordance with IDS data and analytics architecture principles, guardrails and design standards.

Some of the key responsibilities of the position are:

  • Supporting the University's data and analytics architecture and strategy.

  • Assisting with assurance services for solution designs and technology options to ensure alignment with data and analytics architecture frameworks, principles, guardrails, and design standards.

  • Supporting the relevant stakeholders in the development and implementation of the vision and associated roadmap for IDS data and analytics architecture.

  • Maintaining the relevant supporting artefacts and assisting with the periodical review of the IDS data and analytics vision and roadmap.

  • Supporting an agile based way of working to manage, refine, and prioritise the activity backlog based on relevant customer and IDS priorities.  Balancing the need to support day to day operations in a stable and reliable manner, with the need to undertake functional enhancements and new features for customers.

About You 

To be successful, you have high-level experience in Power BI, Microsoft Azure, dimensional modelling and expertise in DAX and SQL languages. You can build effective relationships and can work well autonomously as well as part of a team across various projects.

Some of the key position capabilities of the role include:

  • General experience in dealing with customer relationships and expectations. 

  • General experience in agile ways of working including exposure to scaled agile methodologies and/or collaborating and delivering through a matrix structure.

  • Well-developed self-improvement and growth mindset/approach to the role and as part of a wider team.

  • Well-developed interpersonal influence and demonstrated ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with staff and customers across a diverse organisation particularly during the design, management, and implementation of customer solutions.

  • Significant experience in business intelligence design, or the use of associated tools, or with processes of implementation.
