About the Office of Academic Quality and Enhancement, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Students) Portfolio

The Office of Academic Quality and Enhancement was formed in 2023 and is led by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic Quality and Enhancement). The Office is responsible for Curriculum Services, Student Policy and Integrity Services, Quality and Enhancement and Academic Quality, Compliance and Risk functions.

The Office of Academic Quality and Enhancement is within the Portfolio of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students). This Portfolio provides support to key strategic and operational functions of the University’s student-related and academic services. Under the general portfolio, the Office team support Portfolio leadership and facilitate dialogue between key service areas to help the Portfolio ensure Flinders’ educational offerings are innovative, of assured quality, and are student centred. About the Role

Flinders University is seeking a Data Analyst (Policy and Process) to join the Academic Quality and Enhancement team in 2024!

The Data Analyst (Policy and Process) is accountable for the reports and analytics services to support evidence-based decision-making within the Academic Quality and Enhancement unit, to support the delivery of projects in the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students) portfolio. With the support of your team, you will provide evidence-based insights relating to compliance to identify areas for improvement, efficiencies and opportunities for benefit realisation.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Interpreting and transforming qualitative and quantitative data into timely and relevant information for all levels of management for use in governance, reporting, and process enhancement.

  • Working with stakeholders to design and develop accessible reports that provide measures, metrics and analytical data to inform strategic and operational reporting and decision-making at team, College and University level.

  • Contributing to strategic decision-making through the provision of desktop research, data collection and data management, employing a range of research methods to provide sound analysis and reporting.

  • A relevant degree with extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • Well developed to high level analytical skills with demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, research and analysis, including demonstrated strengths across areas such as data visualisation and data sampling.

  • Well-developed to high-level of knowledge and technical skills to respond to shifting data and reporting demands and expectations in complex organisations.
