We have an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that provides guidance and support across Curtin University to achieve our first student at-risk intervention objectives. The First Year Experience team support current first year students to provide tailored, timely and positive support to assist in their successful transition into university.

As the Data Analyst, you will support our Project Leads to collate and analyse data from a range of student platforms, identify and determine at-risk student cohorts for required interventions. Working with the Project Academic Lead (NCSEHE) you will need to extensively analyse the intervention outcomes, conduct statistical analysis and report on project trends and data to measure the overall success of the project.

The role is set for Semester 1 commencement, with a preferred start date by 4 March 2024 (flexible for the right candidate).


In this role, you will also:
  • Apply appropriate techniques to link, integrate or extract relevant information from data sources.
  • Identify relationships, patterns and trends in data and provide recommendations based on KPIs.
  • Use database management tools to investigate problems, collect performance statistics, and create reports that support project priorities or area activities and are presented in formats (e.g. tabular and graphical formats) appropriate to the audience.
  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards to assess key goals and KPI’s.
  • Maintain datasets and be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Ensure data capture framework and data integrity procedures are in-place across omni-channel user touch points.

We are looking for:
  • Experience in data analytics including project/campaign tracking and goal conversions.
  • Proficiency in student management systems such as BlackBoard, SRES and CRM.
  • Extensive written and data visualisation skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in the tertiary education sector (desired).

As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
