We are seeking to fill the role of Customer Service Officer at our vibrant CQUniversity Bookshop. If you enjoy working in a retail environment with a knack for connecting with people, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

 

Your key responsibilities involved providing friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers regarding book selections, course materials and merchandise - both face to face and online.  You have experience using a point-of-sale system, and the ability to support financial processes such as banking and purchasing. 

 

You have a keen aesthetic eye and appreciate the importance of setting up a welcoming and organised store environment with visually appealing displays.  You enjoy working in a retail environment and have a good understanding of sales strategies which contribute to increasing sales.  This role will also see you undertake a variety of duties relating to the post office service.

Position Requirements

 

  • Enthusiasm for books and a genuine interest in helping customers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech-savvy mindset with a familiarity with various platforms and computer skills.
  • Prior customer service experience is a plus, but not required – we're more interested in your passion and potential!
  • It is a requirement of this position to satisfy the eligibility requirements and training to work for a licensed post office within 3 months of appointment. This includes the successful applicant undertaking a criminal history check.
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
