Create collaborative research addressing relevant organisational and industry needs and opportunities and expanding both Curtin and BHP’s presence across Western Australia, particularly in communities of mutual interest.

Your new role

An opportunity exists for an Alliance Manager to support the Curtin-BHP Alliance through the development, execution and promotion of mutually beneficial collaborative, research, teaching and learning and commercial projects and initiatives. Engage with senior stakeholders across Curtin’s research and academic portfolios as well as senior stakeholders within BHP technology and community engagement portfolios.

You will gain exposure to Curtin University and BHP, being an integral link between both alliance partners. Join us to help deliver diverse and groundbreaking research, teaching and learning and community engagement projects where no two days will be the same.
The role will be based at the Curtin Bentley Campus with regular attendance at the BHP offices in the Perth CBD, as well as visiting regional BHP locations. Reporting to the Director of Research Partnerships, you will also work closely with key personnel in Learning Partnerships, Alumni, Scholarships and Faculty portfolios.
Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and overseeing the development, coordination and implementation of Curtin-BHP joint initiatives.
  • Managing the Curtin-BHP relationship through increasing engagement and collaboration across a wide range of projects.
  • Providing advice and contributing to strategies, policies, processes and programs to deliver the objectives of the Curtin-BHP Alliance.
  • Providing executive officer support to joint project committees including the preparation of reports to deliver on the success of the alliance.
You will bring to the role
  • Knowledge of the WA mining context.
  • Highly developed relationship management skills with a consultative style focused on creating value.
  • Outstanding organisational, prioritising and communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills, including applied project governance experience and significant exposure to mining, resources, energy or technical environments.
  • Undergraduate qualification in mining, business or a relevant subject.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills.
 

You will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
