Your new Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the development of major Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) partnership and proposal opportunities. Liaise with industry, government and researchers to support key business development strategies, develop business plans and provide project oversight during the project lifecycle. To this end, you will demonstrate an ability to focus both internally and externally to build relationships and deliver concrete outcomes. You will gain exposure to a wide range of industry sectors from defence, agriculture and health to mining and resources. You will be the key link between researchers and industry and government agencies. Support research on diverse and ground breaking research projects making real world differences.

In this role you will:

  • Identify opportunities for Curtin researcher participation in CRC bids
  • Coordinate Curtin stakeholder engagement in CRC bids at all stages
  • Identify and engage industry and government partners for emerging CRC’s
  • Coordinate research support services in contract negotiations and execution
  • Analyse Curtin participation in existing CRC’s and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Engage with CRCs’ to identify and address emerging issues
  • Coordinate internal reporting of CRC’s
  • Provide additional support for key CRC projects

We are looking for someone with…

  • Completion of a relevant degree with considerable relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and/or education/training.
  • High level planning, management and leadership skills.
  • Proven experience in a business development and stakeholder engagement based role with a strong industry focus.
  • Delivery focused and action oriented in an agile world.
  • Highly agile approach to work with outstanding interpersonal and oral communication skills, with the ability to develop and manage strategic relationships.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to construct clear and concise briefs, business cases and reports.
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks with attention to detail and within deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with a cross functional team internally and externally.
  • Strong critical analysis skills.
  • Previous experience in government/university and private/non-government sectors is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the research landscape in Australia is desirable.
  • Experience in commercial contract coordination is highly desirable.
