About the Role:

The Course and Unit Advisor (CUA) will apply a broad range of knowledge and expertise across an academic College’s coursework program to support students, Course Chairs and Academic Unit Coordinators. The Course and Unit Advisor is required to be the subject matter expert for prospective and current students needing advice related to course and unit queries ensuring that they are well equipped to successfully complete their studies at Victoria University. 

This is a full time, fixed term position available until 07 March 2025 at a HEP 6, $85,667 - $92,728 classification plus 17% superannuation, working 36.75 (1.0 FTE) hours per week.

Your excellent communication skills and commitment to providing outstanding customer service will be a key factor in setting you up for success in this interesting and diverse role. You will have a good understanding of the student life cycle and a demonstrated ability to resolve enquiries and complaints in a timely and effective manner, while at the same time recognising the point at which enquiries may need to be escalated. Dealing with students from diverse backgrounds, you will play an important role as a positive influence on their perceptions of University life. 

 Duties 

 An example of duties you may perform will include: 

  • Provide accurate, timely and documented advice to students on course progression, including course mapping, administration, enrolment and advanced standing.  
  • Work collaboratively with Student Services, Student Administration and College staff to support students and academic staff with matters related to course and unit advice. 
  • Assist in the development and improvement of effective processes that contribute to the delivery of exceptional service to students.
