  • Excellent opportunity to join the national accredited mental health services of UWA, in the Student Counselling and Psychological Services team as casual.
  • Level 6 or 7 appointment on a casual basis to December 2023
  • Base salary range: $54 – $59 per hour + 10.5% superannuation

About the team 

The Counselling and Psychological Service provides a full range of confidential services to students at the University of Western Australia. These services include individual counselling, management of emergency presentations; ad hoc consultancy to staff on issues related to student counselling; and promotion of counselling services. About the opportunity 

You will work specifically as a member of the counselling and psychological services team engaged in the full range of psychological and counselling duties. You will work with other practitioners within Student Success and Wellbeing as appropriate.

About you 

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) as General or Provisional Psychologist with suitable experience
  • Substantial relevant experience within a mental health psychologist role
  • Ability to assess risk and apply a range of professional counselling and therapeutic interventions appropriate to client presentations
  • Sound knowledge and application of current evidence-based short term interventions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills specific to clinical service delivery within the tertiary educational environment
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills including information gathering and recording, as well as time management skill

You will also be requested to provide up to date National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
