About the Media and Communications Team
The Media and Communications Team plays a pivotal role in managing and advancing Flinders' reputation as an innovative, world-leading university. About the Role
As the Corporate Communications Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of high quality and effective communications support to the Vice Chancellor and across the university. You will be leading the implementation of internal and external communications plans as well as establishing strategic directions and actions for the Corporate Communications function.
Some of the key position responsibilities of this pivotal role include:
Coordinating and overseeing the Vice-Chancellor’s communications activity, including preparation of well researched and high-quality speeches, presentations, staff communications, editorials, and driving a proactive calendar of activity.
Delivering effective communications support for key portfolios, colleges, and projects across the University.
Managing an effective internal communications program that contributes to an informed and engaged workforce.
Overseeing the development and rollout of key University’s projects and activities, including the annual report, strategic plan, and other key publications.
About You
As the successful candidate, you have extensive experience in the communications/journalism or a related field at a senior level. You possess excellent interpersonal skills and can work in an agile way, independently and as part of a team. You are passionate about fostering a positive culture in the workspace and represent the university values and ethos.

Outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills, together with proven experience in preparing high- quality and well-researched speeches, presentations, and communications content, for a wide range of audiences.
Demonstrated experience working with executives, committees, industry, and community groups, with the ability to cultivate relationships and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead a high-performing, service-oriented communications team, together with an ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, providing reliable support to other team members and contributing positively to the achievement of team goals.
Well-developed influencing skills and a proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with people at all levels of an organisation.
