  • $80,515 - $86,870 per annum, + up to 17% superannuation

About the position

These two positions sit within the Engagement Communications team in the Students Portfolio. The Students Portfolio brings together all student facing services, ensuring we provide a seamless end to end student facing service. We are committed to providing an outstanding experience for students and clear support for staff. We work in close partnership with our stakeholders (students, staff, industry, and community) across the Portfolio to provide excellent service. To achieve this objective, we place students at the centre of everything we do.

The Engagement Communications team oversees the online experience of students and works closely with departments across the University to support the delivery of high quality digital user experience and communications.

The Engagement Communications team is responsible for the development, maintenance and provision of:

  • bespoke and bulk direct student communications
  • high quality information resources via a variety of communication channels
  • support and advice to departments regarding communications mechanisms

The team utilise a variety of communication channels including:

  • Online Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) databases
  • Website (Students site)
  • Email
  • CRM (Standard Text and FAQ)
  • Direct SMS

The Engagement Communications team provide advice regarding Student Communications and Digital Experience to areas across the University.

Duties will include:

  • Plan and edit written communication intended for distribution via web and digital channels that is useful, usable, accessible, and focused on the student experience.
  • Build, test, and publish web content including web pages and email communications.
  • Maintenance and ongoing review including regular updates of CMS content (web and Intranet).
  • Create engaging digital content for social media and digital channels create written content for web and digital channels that:
  • aligns with core principles of writing for the web (e.g., being concise, well-structured, and accessible, using plain English).
  • is optimised for readability.
  • tailors’ content to suit the delivery channel and meet the information needs of specific audiences.
  • Includes research of content, facts, and other resources.
  • Innovate within own function and take responsibility for outcomes; designs, develops and tests complex systems and procedures.
  • Advise on the analysis and interpretation of data, identify trends and test solutions, sources additional related information where appropriate, and reports on progress, to support the resolution of issues/problems.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Degree with subsequent relevant experience to consolidate the theories and principles learned, or extensive experience, leading to either the development of specialist expertise or to the development of broad knowledge in an administrative field, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Proven experience with web content management systems (CMS) (Squiz Matrix preferred), Electronic Direct Mail (EDM) systems (including Adobe Campaign and Campaign Monitor) and digital tools and software (such as Adobe Creative Suite). Ability to troubleshoot HTML and CSS issues.
  • Experience in producing content within brand guidelines including copywriting and communication development and management across a range of channels including web, social media, and email.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating and editing content for web and digital channels. Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the activities of self, including the ability to set priorities and monitor workflows within own area of responsibility.
