About the position

The Coordinator Research Impact reports to the Manager Research Impact, who leads La Trobe University in maximising the impact of our research outcomes. This role supports the generation of research impact across the University and is responsible for gathering evidence to document and measure impact, and maintaining appropriate data and frameworks to systematically record this. The role will work with stakeholders including researchers, research managers and professional staff to enhance capability to plan for and enhance research impact, and better describe and evidence research impact in case studies, funding applications. In addition to playing a key role in the identification and collection of research impact activity this role also assists the Research Performance Team to effectively communicate research performance activity across the research lifecycle to positively impact the wider research culture.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • A degree, extensive management expertise and supporting experience, or postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, and the ability to determine client or end user information requirements and deliver reports and recommendations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information and concepts to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to negotiate, motivate, influence and build relationships.
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills with demonstrated ability to manage several projects concurrently and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated high level of self-motivation and personal management skills.
  • Knowledge of the Australian and/or international university research context, in particular industry engagement and/or impact;
  • Proficiency in record-keeping and data collection;
  • Ability to set priorities and deliver on agreed objectives.
