An exciting opportunity is available for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to join the Future Students Engagements team to help drive the recruitment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to ECU.

As the Future Students Coordinator, you will be responsible for actively participating in activities and services related to student recruitment including visiting and presenting to high schools, colleges, registered training organisations and other groups, and promoting ECU as a preferred higher education provider to our potential students. This role is instrumental in promoting ECU’s courses, providing advice on admission requirements and information about entry pathways.

To be successful in this role you will have a genuine passion for supporting and providing access pathways to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to help reach their full potential and transform their lives through education.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop presentations and present information to a diverse range of prospective students to foster interest in ECU as preferred higher education provider
  • Input/maintain information on prospective students in the customer relationship management system, to enable excellent customer service through nurturing communication
  • Provide a promotional and advisory/consultative role aimed at individuals and their key influencers, matching customer needs with ECU products, and where possible, being the advocate for the student and assisting them in successfully applying and enrolling to study with ECU
  • Develop, organise and attend Future Student Engagement activities and events, working closely with Kurongkurl Katitjin, ECU Schools and other professional service areas (i.e. Corporate Events when required)
  • Develop and account manage allocated ECU Schools and act as a relationship manager between Future Student Engagements Team and the ECU Schools
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with relevant stakeholders and pathway providers, industry contacts, High School Career Counsellors, and TAFE/RTOs personnel in order to foster interest in ECU as a preferred higher education provider

Key Criteria:
  • Previous experience in an event coordination or sales and marketing role, preferable within the higher educator sector
  • Strong focus on all aspects of customer service, including achieving quality outcomes, identifying, and meeting customer needs, continually evaluating, and improving customer service
  • Ability to organise and present information in a concise, understandable, and interesting format for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and develop those relationships into student growth opportunities
  • High developed ability to plan, time manage and organise small to large Future Student Engagement activities with limited resources
  • Ability to be flexible and proactive in a dynamic team environment

Specific requirements:

  • Valid Drivers’ license
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of standard business hours (including some weekends) and undertake travel as required
  • Ability to travel to the ECU Southwest campus for occasional Future Student Engagement events
  • Ability to undertake tasks which require some manual handling of materials and light equipment (e.g. packing/unpacking materials and banners)
  • Valid Working with Children Check
 

Undergraduate qualifications or progress towards undergraduate qualifications and a strong understanding of the West Australian education sector will be highly regarded.

Remuneration 

This full time, fixed-term position attracts remuneration of $85,551-$97,301 pa (HEW 6) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
