The Role

This dynamic, newly created, position will play a key role in leading and driving the development and implementation of a refreshed content and campaigns strategy which brings coordination, data-led decision making and innovation to the way RMIT delivers communications across the breadth of the University.

Reporting to the Head of Communications and leading a team of content creators, including and digital and production (digital and video), the ideal candidate will be a strategic and creative thinker who brings a wealth of experience in campaign strategy and management, audience engagement, channel innovation, content development and stakeholder management.

Your key responsibilities will include leading the planning and management of content, multi-channel enterprise communications campaigns and channel strategy and performance, whilst also providing best-practice advice and guidance to the wider University Communications team and key stakeholders on innovative solutions which align to RMIT’s priorities, our wider University Communication strategy and audience needs.

Reporting Line

Reports to:  Head of Communications, Vietnam

Direct reports: 4: Communications and Campaigns Officer,  Multimedia Producer, Digital Communications Adviser and Digital Content Producer as well as content production and video production student assistants and freelancers

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in managing the creation and distribution of innovative and impactful content for internal and external channels in large complex environments
  • Demonstrated team leadership capabilities and proven delivery of key streams of work in a high performing MarComms function or agency environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic communications plans and content that is aligned to both stakeholder objectives and organisational strategy.
  • Knowledge and experience in driving digital innovation through data-led decision making to improve outcomes.
  • Proven experience in content and campaign planning, delivery and measurement that contributes to organisational objectives.
  • Proven stakeholder management experience and the ability to influence at all levels and identify opportunities to deliver measurable communications outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills and flexible working style.
  • Ability to manage workflow and competing deadlines on multiple projects
  • Experience in encouraging a workplace culture of high performance and promoting accountability for outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated passion for delivering creative and impactful communications to staff.
