About This Opportunity 

The Australian Frailty Network (AFN) is looking for a Consumer Engagement Coordinator. In this role, you'll play a vital part in fostering partnerships with consumers and their carers, ensuring their active involvement in AFN's activities. As the Consumer Engagement Coordinator, you'll spearhead strategies to elevate consumer perspectives, driving collaboration and empowerment across our programs.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitate consumer engagement across all AFN activities and governance, progressing from consultation to active involvement, collaboration, and empowerment.

  • Establish and manage systems for monitoring, recording, and evaluating engagement opportunities, ensuring adherence to quality and confidentiality standards.

  • Collaborate with partners to recruit and retain a diverse range of consumers within the AFN network, prioritizing equity and inclusion.

  • Develop program foundations including onboarding processes, remuneration procedures, and training programs for both researchers and consumers to enhance meaningful engagement throughout the research lifecycle.

This is a part-time (0.4-0.6 FTE%), fixed-term position through until December 2025.

At HEW level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range 96,649.64 - $105,244.58, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17% and market loading. The total FTE package will be up to $113,080.08 - $123,136.15 annually. As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.

About You  

  • Tertiary qualifications, relevant experience or a combination of both in healthcare, community engagement, or related fields.

  • Experience in coordinating relationships with diverse stakeholders in healthcare or science disciplines.

  • Understanding of frailty challenges or capacity to develop this knowledge.

  • Proven organisational skills, including project coordination from initiation to evaluation.

  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, adept at managing sensitive conversations and negotiating positive outcomes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative and flexibility.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management, with meticulous attention to detail in record-keeping.

In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:

  • Mandatory Immunisations: It is a condition of employment for this role that you will be required to provide evidence of immunisation against certain vaccine preventable diseases.
