About the Role

Supporting the Manager: Payroll Services and leading a small team of Payroll Officers, the Consultant: Payroll Services anticipates and identifies payroll cycle issues and manages daily workload and task allocation, ensuring activities are completed on time. You will deal with complex queries, calculations, and audits, providing expertise, direction, interpretation, and advice on a broad range of payroll activities including salary packaging, taxation, enterprise agreement requirements and parental leave.

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of end-to-end payroll services to ensure the accurate and timely processing of the fortnightly payroll
  • Provide a responsive and accurate payroll advisory service
  • Grow and lead a high performing team, fostering excellence and delivery of quality service outcomes
  • Proactively manage ongoing process improvement initiatives


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering professional payroll advice and the ability to manage performance, set priorities and monitor workflows within a team
  • Understanding and application of the principles of salary sacrifice and remuneration
  • Experience in providing advice and practical solutions through multiple customer contact channels
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in a customer service environment within a large complex organisation
