In partnership with the Australian Research Data Commons and the Research Data Alliance, Curtin University is hosting this exciting new role. Working within the Curtin Library Research Services team this new role is looking to drive the growth of the Research Data Alliance within Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region. 

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) is funded by the Australian Commonwealth Government. The funding has been provided through the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) as part of the 2016 National Research Infrastructure Roadmap. The purpose of the ARDC is to provide Australian researchers with a competitive advantage through data.
The Research Data Alliance (RDA) is a global, consensus-based, community-driven organisation of over 12,000 individual and 65 institutional members from 145 countries, whose mission is to provide a platform to drive innovation surrounding data sharing and interoperability. RDA enables data to be shared across geographical, technological and disciplinary boundaries, through outputs developed by groups and volunteer experts from around the world, and drawn from academia, the private sector and government. Established in 2013, RDA draws its membership from individuals and organizations across the data management ecosystem.

The ARDC is a key partner in supporting RDA both globally and locally and is looking to support its growth in Australia with the appointment of a National Community Development Manager in partnership with Curtin University.
Candidates should note:

  • Domestic and international travel may be required. Therefore, the need for flexibility should be considered when applying for this role and during peak periods the taking of leave may be restricted
  • There will be a requirement to work additional hours from time to time which would be managed under flexible working hours

You will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role which is fixed term 12 months.
