About the opportunity

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is seeking applications for a Communications and Intranet Coordinator to join the Operations Portfolio. Within this faculty, you will utilise your skills in communications to optimise the faculty’s digital content that is both inspiring and engaging as part of the faculty’s internal communication strategy.

As the Communications and Intranet Coordinator your primary focus upon commencement will be to support the operations portoflio priorities in uplifting the faculty’s digital communications & presence. The strategy aims to modernise the look and feel of the faculty intranet and SharePoint content and create more current, fluent, and engaging communications amongst faculty staff.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage timelines for routine intranet content renewal and provide timely updates of content at the request of content owners, using best practice principles and exercising judgement and problem-solving skills to ensure the accuracy and relevance of published information

  • develop effective and collaborative relationships with stakeholders to develop SharePoint sites and Intranet content that supports faculty operations and internal communications

  • advises staff on the most effective communication platforms and channels for operations and dissemination of information

  • respond to a range of complex inquiries via telephone, email and in person from staff regarding the faculty’s internal communication platforms

  • provides training and support to staff in the faculty’s schools and units regarding SharePoint, intranet, and other technologies, with a customer-focused approach to the delivery of services.

About you

  • Demonstrated professional experience working within media and communications or an equivalent area

  • knowledge and experience in using Content Management systems and Microsoft SharePoint

  • demonstrated experience in copywriting/ editing and proofreading

  • well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships

  • ability to write content in a creative and professional manner to achieve business or project goals

  • excellent time management skills and capable of working autonomously.
