YOUR ROLE

This position is responsible for producing creative content for Careers, Alumni & Industry Relations (CAIR) department presence on official digital communication platforms. This position will plan and produce content, and monitor the engagement on social media spaces of the career department.

This includes planning and creating content in line with communications objectives and strategic plans for both internal and external audiences and providing communication consultation to internal stakeholders. This role liaises and coordinates with the University comms department to create and implement communication activities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead, create, design and implement the CAIR department communications plan and strategy

  • Conduct evaluation of current social channels managed by each team which ensures brand consistency and department brand visibility & impact

  • Lead data collection and analyses, manage business analytics tools and consolidate semester-based media reports of all areas

  • Develop and supervise channels and content of digital library together with other department members

  • Supervise incident and risk management for the communication of the team, and monitor appropriate language/terms are used by everyone in the team (Accessibility Design Competition, Career Mentoring Asia Careers Online Portal, etc.)

  • Participate in strategic department and networking/industry events

  • Follow RMIT branding guidelines design and work with external vendors/students/alumni to supervise the design and visual development of all areas/projects

  • Develop and produce appropriate and approved multimedia content independently using but not limited to smartphones, tablets, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite and with graphic designers / photographers / videographers

  • Supervise student staff (interns and team supporters) working on department communication campaign creation and their implementation and monitor outcomes

  • Liaise and coordinate with central comms office to avoid overlaps and be aligned with RMIT strategy

Social Media Planning and Development 

  • Design, develop and deliver a Social Media Strategy and yearly deliverable plan  

  • Manage and develop content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Tik Tok, Flickr

  • Design social media content campaigns for maximum engagement, and ensure all digital content is accurate, effective, culturally sensitive, accessible, and conform to RMIT’s communications and branding guidelines  

  • Take complete ownership of all Paid Social Media activities of the department to make sure content and campaigns have the best reach, impressions, and engagements  

Digital expertise provision 

  • Provide training/consultations on latest tools and best practices of social media and website management as required  

  • Provide technical expertise of digital tools, platforms and best practices to support the communication of department team members 

  • Ensure communications are well placed in relevant digital channels, are aligned with the University’s key messages and branding, and follow best practices  

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Highly creative individual with a sense of humour which is translatable into the content you produce. Your style is creative, witty, fun, positive, authentic, insightful and relevant.

  • Proven graphic design experience (shown in strong portfolio when applying for the job)

  • Excellent knowledge of design and photo editing software

  • Excellent use of illustrators, in design, photoshop, Dreamweaver video making 

  • Mature, self-driven, results oriented individual with ability to critically assess own performance

  • Superior time and project management skills, including ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • A good team player with ability to work effectively in teams, with suppliers as well as autonomously   

  • Having practical skills in graphic designs, visual creation, video planning, video production for the online environment is an advantage)  

  • Strong initiative, interpersonal skills, sound judgment and ability to work independently and as part of a team 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English  

  • Good organisation and planning skills and ability to set priorities

  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details

  • Ability to work on own initiative and work under pressure  

English Proficiency

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (General) with a score of at least 7.0 (BULATS 65).
