About the opportunity

The Commercialisation Associate or Senior Business Innovation Associate (in Griffith terms) will work in line with the Business and Innovation Managers, staff and researchers to contribute to the portfolio’s technology transfer, commercialisation, and research impact outcomes. This role will support Life Sciences which includes capabilities in new vaccines, infectious diseases, regenerative medicines, cell and tissue therapy, medical devices and diagnostics, animal health.

  • Identify, analyse, and assess business opportunities with external organisations.
  • Identify and create external opportunities and partnerships that will develop Griffith’s research impacts.
  • Develop, present, and implement business plans, including licencing arrangements, for the effective commercial exploitation of Griffith Intellectual Property, products, and services.
  • Position Griffith University as a preferred partner for external organisations when they are looking to source the projects and services of higher education, with the support of effective marketing.
  • Provide guidance and support researchers and academics with commercialisation strategies, including proposals, resource management and delivery.

This is a continuing, full-time position and can be primarily based at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus. You may be required to work on either a temporary or an indefinite basis at any premises, which the University currently has or may subsequently acquire or at any premises at which it may from time to time provide services.

About you

  • A postgraduate degree in Life Sciences or related degree combined with relevant knowledge, training or suitable research experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in the technology commercialisation field, or an equivalent alternative combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or suitable experience.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating commercial and legal arrangements for research utilisation.
  • Stakeholder management and ability to influence positively in decision making.
  • Proven ability in building effective teams across internal and external partners.
  • Strong conceptual and analytic skills – enjoys problem solving

Salary range

Hew Level 8 Base Salary $100, 567 – $104, 754 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total package is in the range $117, 667 - $132, 369 per annum.
