About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an expert in working in the management of information resources to contribute to shaping the provision of future focused and innovative services to procure information resources in terms of content, workflows and processes and based on values of partnering, diversity and inclusiveness.

This position will be offered on a full-time ongoing basis at the classification level of HEP 7 classification, with salary of $94,526 - 102,320 per annum plus 17% employer superannuation contribution, working 36.75 hours per week.

An example of duties you may perform will include:

  • Coordinating negotiations with vendors and suppliers regarding pricing and procurement of subscription resources including preliminary assessment of resource licenses to ensure compliance with University and industry accepted requirements.
  • Representing the Victoria University Library as CAUL Content Coordinator in the CAUL Content Procurement Consortium.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of effective end workflows in relation to acquisition, description, discovery and review of scholarly information resources
  • Contributing to the compilation and analysis of statistics on print and electronic resources including usage for reporting to internal committees, the Library Annual Report, and other agencies.

  • Have Experience leading teams of staff
  • Have the ability to collaborate with colleagues within the University and across the sector
  • Have awareness of relevant emerging trends such Open education resources and Transformative and open access agreements
  • Possess experience and knowledge of:
    • Scholarly publishers
    • Vendors and agents
    • Consortia arrangements
    • Metadata standards
    • Access protocols
    • Description workflows (distinct advantage)
