- Support nursing and midwifery students’ clinical skills development
- Monitor clinical skills content with evidence-based practice within industry
- Support teaching and assessment by demonstrating and certifying clinical skills in workshops for all practicum units
Role Overview
This position is responsible for providing leadership to staff and students in simulated and clinical settings, participating in the planning and delivery of low-high fidelity simulation activities, and facilitating the implementation of clinical programs and strategic initiatives of the SNM. The Clinical Skills and Simulation -Clinical Lead is a leader who works collaboratively with industry, permanent and sessional staff to support the nursing practice development of entry-to-practice nursing students.
Reporting to the Associate Dean, Work Integrated Learning, the Clinical Skills and Simulation Clinical Lead (CSSCL) has a key role in the planning and implementation of the School’s clinical strategic initiatives and is responsible for leading staff and students in the development of clinical skills in simulated and clinical settings.
The role supports the development and facilitation of simulation and remediation programs; and builds and maintains new and existing industry relationships.
This is a key leadership role within the School which collaborates with its current and future industry partners, staff, and students; and provides line management to an extensive clinical staff pool.
The School of Nursing and Midwifery provides a comprehensive range of academic programs to prepare health professionals for positions in nursing and midwifery. The School has a commitment to developing strong partnerships locally, nationally, and internationally through its collaboration with health professions, industry, and the broader community.
Applicants should please note they will be required to travel to and work from various metropolitan health sites, as their ordinary place of work to visit students on practicum.
Key Criteria
- Registered Nurse and/or Midwife
- Post graduate qualification in nursing and/or midwifery
- WA National Police Clearance
- 2022 influenza vaccination
- Be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 including booster dose.

Benefits & Remuneration
This permanent, ongoing position attracts a salary of $122,934 to $128,562 pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
