  • Support midwifery students’ clinical skills development
  • Monitor clinical skills content with evidence-based practice within industry
  • Support teaching and assessment by demonstrating and certifying clinical skills in workshops for all practicum units

Role Overview  

The Clinical Practice Facilitator is a Registered Midwife who works collaboratively with industry, permanent and sessional staff to support the nursing and midwifery clinical skills development of entry-to-practice nursing students. 

Reporting to the Clinical Skills and Simulation Clinical Lead, the Facilitators have a key role in certifying all students enrolled in all entry to practice courses within the School of Nursing and Midwifery can demonstrate competence in clinical skills. The role supports teaching and assessment by certifying that clinical skills can be demonstrated in workshops for all practicum units, inclusive of low-high fidelity simulation activities, as well as providing the site-based clinical facilitation and supervision of students while undertaking clinical placement. 

The School of Nursing and Midwifery provides a comprehensive range of academic programs to prepare health professionals for positions in nursing and midwifery.  The School has a commitment to developing strong partnerships locally, nationally, and internationally through its collaboration with health professions, industry, and the broader community.

Applicants should please note they will be required to travel to and work from various metropolitan health sites, as their ordinary place of work to visit students on practicum.

Key Criteria

  • Registered Midwife
  • Post graduate qualification in nursing and/or midwifery
  • WA National Police Clearance
  • 2022 influenza vaccination
  • Be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 including booster dose.
  • Department of Health Western Australia Criminal Screening Clearance,
  • Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance,
  • Evidence of immunisation screening clearance as per Department of Health Guidelines,
  • Current CPR
  • NDIS clearance
  • Certificate and Manual/Patient Handling Certificate.
  • Neo-natal resuscitation.

Benefits & Remuneration
This permanent, ongoing position attracts a salary of $93,378  to $104,628 p.a and 17% University superannuation contribution.
