  • Commencement Salary: $90,234 pro rata per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role

The Clinical Nurse: Horizon Hospital and Health Service (HHHS) position is a senior clinical role providing expert and contemporary clinical leadership within the purpose-built teaching facilities within UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences.

The successful candidate will inform the development and coordination of student related activities, and provide clinical advice and feedback to students to equip them with the skills and experience to successfully meet the challenges that the nursing profession faces.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure UniSA, industry and community organisational needs, educational requirements and accreditation standards are met
  • Integrate evidence based theoretical knowledge to inform teaching and improve the clinical content in courses run through the HHHS
  • Research and develop alternative, contemporary teaching methods and initiate the development of materials, including online resources for the HHHS
  • In consultation with the team, develop and deliver case studies, situational and simulation teaching activities, workshops and clinical based assessments
  • Develop and implement evaluation tools for the student’s participation within the HHHS
  • Respond to student queries and provide expert clinical advice and feedback related to their clinical based learning

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor of Nursing (plus relevant postgraduate qualification in nursing) and current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Significant post registration experience, including providing clinical leadership, supervising staff and working with university students
  • Demonstrated expertise, knowledge and commitment to contemporary practice and motivation to maintain clinical skills (in acute care, critical care, paediatrics and child health, community nursing and/or aged care)
  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills to obtain and interpret information and make recommendations
  • High level interpersonal skills and a commitment to outstanding customer service
