The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Clinical Dean to join the Undergraduate Medical Education in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences on a part-time continuing basis. In this role, you will be reporting directly to the Director, of Undergraduate Medical Education and will be focusing on contributing to the innovation of education and leading the design and delivery of education at the University.    

This can include:

  • Proactively preparing and delivering lectures and seminars 

  • Conducting broad administrative functions including marking and assessment

  • Building learning and teaching capacity in fellow academics within the department, school or faculty 

  • Engaging in collaborative design or implementation of cross-faculty, cross-campus or team-taught units, courses or projects 

  • Publishing educational or disciplinary research in high-quality journals or equivalent

  • Attracting and retaining funding to undertake projects that enhance student or staff learning and teaching outcomes   

This position is suited to a highly motivated individual who holds advanced qualifications and/or recognised significant experience in the relevant discipline area. A position at this level will normally require a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing. Additionally, the successful candidate will ideally have demonstrated excellence in teaching in the discipline area, proven ability, commitment and passion for engaging in academic activities and evidence of participation and high-quality contribution to the school.

This role is a part-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
