About This Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Associate Lecturer to join the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work in the Nursing discipline. As the Clinical Associate Lecturer, you will focus your efforts on developing your expertise in clinical teaching, clinical research, and service and engagement with support and guidance from more senior academic staff with the expectation of an increasing degree of autonomy over time.

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Developing an emerging teaching profile

  • Assisting in the development of course material and new programs in the area of focus

  • Undertaking clinical teaching for undergraduate, postgraduate (as appropriate) and/or professional entry level students

  • Producing quality research outputs

  • Participating in applications for competitive research funding

  • Contributing to the effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students (as appropriate)

  • Effectively leading and developing supervisee performance and conduct

  • Showing leadership of self through collaboration and active participation in priority activities for the unit

This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position through to July 2025. At Academic level A, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $77,324 - $102,945, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $90,470 - $120,445 annually. As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Completion or near completion of an advanced professional qualification or Higher Degree by Research in the discipline area.

  • An emerging profile in clinical teaching and/or clinical research in the discipline area.

  • Industry knowledge and experience in a general or specialist capacity.

  • Evidence of quality clinical teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate (as appropriate) and/or professional entry level and collaboration in course coordination.

  • Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and strong contributions towards external activities that foster links within the profession within the relevant specialty.

In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:

  • Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment. 

  • Mandatory Immunisations: It is a condition of employment for this role that you will be required to provide evidence of immunisation against certain vaccine preventable diseases.

  • AHPRA Registration: It is a requirement of this position that the incumbent holds and maintains full AHPRA registration.
