About the opportunity

The Clinical and Research Facilities Manager manages the integrated clinical research facilities on level 5 of the Susan Wakil Health Building ("the facilities") and coordinates closely with clinical governance, technical and building operations staff to ensure best practice operations. In collaboration with academic users they will ensure the facilities meet the needs of the work area and are aligned to the Faculty's research objectives and University Clinical Governance Framework and Clinical Services Policy.

The Clinical and Research Facilities Manager will manage the day to day operations of the Clinics including compliance with clinical policy and oversight of patient/participant experience. They will also provide high quality, professional services to meet the research and teaching needs of the work area. The Clinical and Research Facilities Manager will also provide sound, expert advice and guidance to researchers and students using the facilities on matters relating to the administrative processes and management within the clinics and research spaces. They will collaborate with clinical governance, technical and operations staff, to ensure that the relevant Work, Health and Safety standards of the work area are met and are aligned to the University's WHS policy

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • support the effective implementation of administrative, policy and general resources needed to support the clinics and facilitates systems and approaches
  • support the effective and efficient running of the clinical facilities by establishing systems and processes that facilitate the use of the clinic spaces
  • manage and oversee the scheduling and booking of shared and dedicated spaces for educational timetabling and research activities
  • provide sound advice on regulations, policies and procedures in relation to clinical compliance
  • manage and monitor all information management systems ensuring compliance with the record keeping requirements
  • manage the patient interface for the clinics ensuring all patient and other enquiries are handled promptly and accurately
  • provide training for staff, visitors and students (where appropriate)
  • provide effective leadership and management guidance and support to the clinic professional staff to help build an effective and high performing team

About you

  • demonstrates experience providing relevant policy and operations support in a large clinical setting
  • demonstrates a background in relevant work health and safety standards in clinical or research settings
  • demonstrates a track record of building positive working relationships within a large and complex organisation
  • demonstrates a background in producing relevant reports and managing relevant governance requirements.
