The Opportunity
The Faculty of Information Technology is seeking an experienced and motivated Centre Manager to join the newly formed Monash Assistive Technology & Society (MATS) Centre. MATs brings together researchers and educators across Monash with stakeholders from the disability sector. Its aim is to support people with disabilities to live self-directed lives by understanding the role of technology as an enabler or barrier to social and economic participation and driving technological innovation that meets the needs of people with disabilities, their families, educators and employers.
As the successful candidate you will be responsible for a range of important strategic and operational activities to support the Centre Director in delivering the Centre's strategy and operations. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships with community partners, government and major national and international centres and research programs. Furthermore, the Centre Manager will provide expert advice at both strategic and operational levels and provide leadership to the Centre team to effectively achieve the Centre’s priorities and objectives.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience and management expertise; or postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience. The Centre Manager should also have excellent operational management and customer service skills with proven ability to provide authoritative technical and policy advice, work collaboratively with stakeholders and manage access needs within the disability sector. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who bring lived experience of disability to the role.
