We are seeking expressions of interest from Division 1 Registered Nurses who want to be considered as sessional academic staff members in the Department of Health Sciences, 2024. We are seeking to develop a bank of casual staff members to deliver subjects across the Bachelor of Nursing programs. The teaching delivery will be a combination of online and face-to-face, and may include teaching theoretical knowledge in workshops, teaching clinical skills and simulation in a laboratory, as well as marking, curriculum development and supporting students undertaking clinical placement and their supervisors.

Skills, experience, and attributes

  • Current registration with Ahpra as a Division 1 Registered Nurse.
  • Relevant current practice expertise and experience in Nursing. Postgraduate qualifications relevant to nursing is an advantage.
  • Ability to work with adult learners from diverse backgrounds and with different experiences and capacity.
  • Ability to effectively work in contemporary higher education blended teaching environments. Experience working with education technology is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated capacity to complete contracted teaching commitments within required timeframes.
  • Ability to work productively and ethically in teams.
  • Ability to adapt and respond effectively to complex and dynamic work environments.
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills including communication and emotional intelligence, in all interactions with students.
