Who Are We Looking For?

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking expressions of interest for casual positions to join Digital Business Solutions for 2024.

Digital Business Solutions is looking to establish a pool of QUT students who can support information and technology services across the University. You will be trained in QUT digital services and will draw on your own experience as a QUT student to support information and technology services utilised by students and staff at the University.

About Digital Business Solutions

Digital Business Solutions (DBS) provides support for staff and students across a range of information and technology services. DBS uses technology to create value for our students and customers through the portfolios of Learning and Teaching, Research and Innovation, and Professional Services.

DBS embraces digital transformation as being fundamental to the delivery on the QUT Digital Strategy to enabling QUT’s aspirations outlined in the QUT Connections Strategy

Digital Business Solutions is responsible for a wide range of services in delivering and supporting digital solutions for QUT. DBS comprises seven business units with dynamic knowledge and expertise that work collectively with the University’s Faculties, Institutes and Divisions to provide quality Digital Solutions and Services in support of both QUT’s Strategic Objectives and in core operations for learning and teaching, research and innovation and professional services.

About the positions in Learning Environments and Teaching Spaces 

  • Assistant Technical Support Officer
Assistant Technical Support Officer (multiple positions)

The Assistant Technology Support Officer will assist and support the day-to-day operations of the Technology support team. The successfully applicant will work closely with the team to process and deploy assets across the campus. They will also have the opportunity to assist with basic level windows and mac troubleshooting in an enterprise environment. Clear communication in documenting work done is critical for a successful applicant.   

Remuneration 

The classification for these positions is Higher Education Worker Level 4 (HEW4) which has a casual hourly rate range of $46.73 to $49.16 (inclusive of 25% casual loading), plus superannuation.

The positions will be located at Kelvin Grove campus.

What You Need to Succeed

Successful candidates will meet the following essential criteria.

  • Be a currently enrolled undergraduate or postgraduate student at QUT studying in a related field and meet a GPA of at least 4.
  • Successful candidates will also meet the selection criteria outlined in the role description for the relevant casual appointment.
