Expressions of interest are sought for the positions of Peer Supporter Level 3 in The Living Room. The position is casual and allows the appointee(s) flexibility with days and/or hours.

About the team
The Living Room is a welcoming, inclusive and student-focused space that promotes wellbeing through early intervention, peer support and low barrier access to UWA health services to encourage connection and belonging in the University Community. The core values of The Living Room are shared-understanding, empathy, connection, and support.

The Living Room Project will provide the impetus for cross campus collaboration with university health services and the wider university community. Students are central to the project in both delivery and participation. Peer Supporters are provided with training and opportunities for authentic engagement, consolidating coursework theory with experiential learning, while benefiting the health of the wider student population.

By uniting the interrelated activities of health promotion and early intervention program delivery, and supporting research and evaluation, The Living Room is a low barrier wellbeing hub that connects with UWA health services and enhances the health and wellbeing of UWA students.

About you
We are seeking Peer Supporters who are passionate about student wellbeing, and have the following attributes:

  • Empathic and strong listening skills
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Note: Applicants must be an enrolled UWA student in 2023 with at least one semester of study attained.
