About the opportunity

Southern Cross University’s Library Services is seeking a Casual Library Technician at our Coffs Harbour campus to fulfil a vital role providing client focussed information services to students and staff from the University, TAFE and the Coffs Harbour Senior College.

Duties will include answering inquiries, using library and university systems, collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders and participating in collection maintenance and promotional activities.


About you

You will be committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all library users, utilizing your excellent communication and customer service skills. In addition, you will have:

  • Experience providing client services using library management systems and advanced communication technology skills.
  • Experience using library classification schemes and assisting students and staff with basic information queries and technical troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, teamwork and time management skills together with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proven negotiation skills and ability to effectively engage with a diverse client group.
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity and a working knowledge of equity and WHS principles in the workplace.

Salary and benefits

The hourly rate ranges from $47.55 - $51.06 plus superannuation. Hours may vary from 14 to 25 hours each week, including weekend shifts.
