About This Opportunity 

We are seeking motivated, energetic, and organised Finance Officers to process a wide range of financial transactions in UQ's Finance and Business Services Division.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide efficient, consistent, and accurate delivery of a set of assigned Finance transactions services within the client portfolio.

  • Undertake accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, invoicing, debtor, and credit management, and receipting for the business unit.

  • Process finance transactions related to the registration, transfers, trade-ins, and disposals of assets, as well as accounting journals covering internal transactions, cash allocations, reimbursements etc.

  • Maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders ensuring the delivery of high-quality Finance transactions services to meet client needs.

  • Escalate complex issues, or sensitive client needs, associated with requests for transaction processing that require additional expertise to resolve and execute.

  • Ensure compliance of all Finance transactions with governance protocols, ensuring that University policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements, are followed and adopted appropriately in the client portfolio.

These are casual positions at HEW level 4, with an hourly rate in the range of $47.34 to $50.20, plus superannuation of 11%. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.

While majority of our positions are based at our picturesque St Lucia campus , there may be further opportunities at both our Herston and Dutton Park Campus.


About You  

  • Diploma qualifications in accounting, business, commerce, or a related field with relevant experience in transactions processing and/or equivalent combination of relevant training and professional experience.

  • Ability to apply knowledge of finance systems, policies, and processes to a wide range of financial transactions to ensure accurate, timely and efficient transaction processing.

  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders and clients ensuring service delivery meets key requirements.

  • Experience working with enterprise technology and software solutions and systems.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment, whilst taking full accountability for the efficient delivery of set tasks within agreed timeframes and to agreed service standards.

  • Experience working in service delivery functions in complex stakeholder and policy environments.
