About the opportunity

The Faculty of Education is on a mission to disrupt the education profession and transform it in powerful and positive ways. Contemporary education demands teachers who are equipped with tools for contemporary practice. Southern Cross University is deeply invested in nurturing these skills and in developing the next generation of talented educators with imagination, courage and passion

The Faculty is seeking interest from experienced and suitable qualified early childhood teachers to undertake a range of casual academic opportunities that will enhance the overall student experience. Previous tertiary experience would be desirable but not essential.

Casual academic staff are required to undertake a range of duties within our programs, with a primary focus on marking, tutorials, workshops and student contact.

The hourly salary for casual academic staff is from $48.53 an hour (up to $57.76 for PhD holders) plus superannuation. Payments will also include additional preparation time where applicable (such as two hours preparation time for one-hour delivery time, and a higher hourly rate, if delivering a basic lecture). More information is available on the SCU website .

All casual positions have a degree of administrative duties.

These roles offer flexible working conditions online and on campus at the Gold Coast, with professional experience supervision available at Lismore, Coffs Harbour and online.
