The South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC) seek expressions of interest for casual assessment and enquiries officers.

(HEO4) $43.34 to $47.51 per hour plus an employer contribution of 11% superannuation will apply from 1 July 2023.

Tertiary admissions environment.

Casual Assessment and Enquiries Officers work under general direction as part of a team to process all incoming applications and provide information services to SATAC’s customers.  

They are expected to provide excellent service to applicants and other members of the public via telephone, in-person, email and/or other communication mediums. From time to time, Casual Assessment and Enquiries Officers will also contribute to specific administrative and support duties. 

Casual Assessment and Enquiries Officers will quickly learn and work with complex, in-house software and a wide range of course entry rules to perform day-to-day duties. They will work constructively in a team and have well-developed communication skills and strong attention to detail in reading and applying processes and rules.

Duties may vary between customer enquiries duties and application assessment, according to business needs.

Casual hours will vary according to demand with peak periods from August to January. Please note that the end of year period is SATAC’s busiest time of year and, therefore, these roles are not suitable for anyone with extended leave requirements during this time.

To be successful in this casual opportunity you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing advice via telephone, email, and in-person.  
  • Demonstrated customer service delivery, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex procedures and computer programs quickly. 
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently apply analytical, observational and decision-making skills in accordance with guidelines. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, and complete tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in working within a team and contributing to the achievement of shared goals.

The South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC) Limited provides reliable, efficient and innovative tertiary admissions services to its member institutions and on a fee for service basis to other tertiary education institutions in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

SATAC manages centralised application and admissions processes on behalf of its members and participating fee for service institutions, providing publication and research services, and acting as a one-stop shop for queries regarding application processes and outcomes.
