  • Attractive hourly rate of approx. $43 p/hour plus 10.5% superannuation

This position is based in the School of Human Sciences at UWA and working in the Ben Beale Laboratory, which was launched earlier this year by the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. The laboratory is dedicated to investigate new treatments for cardiovascular disease and atherosclerosis.

About the opportunity

You will be providing expertise in a wide variety of administrative duties to support the Professor, and the operations of the research program. In addition, you will support the administration of a Board that undertakes advocacy to the government and the public. You will work collaboratively with the group to ensure high quality service provision, responding to changing demand.  

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate: 

  • Administration of committees that involves an understanding of governance
  • Considerable relevant secretarial and administrative experience
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Well-developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including MS Word, Excel, databases, internet, email including updating web site information
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of the Medical and/or University sectors is desirable
