The Faculty of Sciences is a multidisciplinary hub of cutting-edge teaching and research. It develops future science leaders, and actively partners with innovative industries to solve scientific problems of global significance.
The School of Agriculture, Food and Wine provides a world-class concentration of scientific research, education and infrastructure at the Waite campus of the University of Adelaide.
We are seeking dedicated and passionate casual staff to assist with the delivery of our Semester 1 undergraduate and postgraduate courses, commencing Monday, 1 March 2021.
Application process:
1. View the current casual employment opportunities and courses available to determine what work offerings are being made available for individual courses (i.e. other academic activity, marking etc.)
2. Ensure you meet the essential criteria:
- Are an Australian citizen or possess an eligible Australian work visa*
*Please note: Prospective employees are required to provide evidence of their Australian citizenship or working rights.
- Conferral of an undergraduate degree in a relevant field
- Good technical knowledge of the key teaching components of the courses you are applying for
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to clearly explain technical information to students
- Available and flexible to meet the minimum hourly/sessional requirements for the course
- Able to work collegially to support excellent teaching in the School
3. Consider the desired criteria:
- Conferral of an Australian Qualifications Framework + 1 (AQF+1) qualification in a relevant field
- Previous experience with casual work within the School
- Demonstrated ability to educate and mentor students
- Evidence of good student feedback in student evaluations
- Evidence of good feedback from course coordinators
