  • Part-time (0.6FTE), Fixed Term Contract until the end of July 2022
  • Commencement Salary: $90,234 per annum pro-rata (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role

The Careers Adviser will work closely with academic staff, students and industry partners to provide career development and employability services and advice, that are in line with the University’s strategic goals relating to the employment of its graduates. This position will work collaboratively with our academic staff to embed and deliver career development learning principles within program curriculum along with working closely with industry to ensure our advice and services meet the needs and future needs of employers. The role also provides career development support direct to students via one to one’s and workshops.

Given this is a part time role, it could suit an independent career practioner seeking to supplement their own consulting work. This is a rare opportunity to be part of an amazing team working on innovative career development initiatives.

Essential Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position you will have demonstrated experience in providing career guidance services including career development learning/planning and job seeking strategies in addition to experience in developing resources and delivering career development advice to a wide range of job seekers. You will have highly developed communication skills and the ability to develop credible working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to add value to the student experience that supports the achievement of their career goals upon graduation.

We are seeking an individual who is highly computer literate and can demonstrate fluency in the development and delivery of material in an engaging digital environment. Experience working with, and/or demonstrated understanding of, employment related issues of people from different cultural backgrounds will be of value. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills that can be applied in a range of contexts and settings including as part of a team that deals flexibly and strategically with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Tertiary qualifications in human resources, education, career development/career transition or related field or equivalent experience, knowledge and skills will be highly regarded. Formal qualifications in Career Development are desirable.
