About the Job
The Swinburne Employability Unit is the university’s hub for work integrated learning, career development and student-industry connections. We work across the university to foster employability through capacity building and partnerships with staff and industry, as well as offering student-facing course-based and co-curricular programs. Our employability programs support students with employability and career development learning throughout their time at Swinburne and beyond. They are offered on a co-curricular basis and can also be integrated into courses and units.
We are seeking an enthusiastic professional to take on the Career Consultant opportunity. This position is responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of career development services across the university, including at Croydon and Wantirna campuses. This position is responsible for the delivery of face-to-face and digital career services targeting the career readiness of students. It is responsible for providing up-to-date career development and employability support through partnerships with Schools and other business units in the University.
About you
It is essential that you are able to bring the the following to the team:
- Implement a careers services delivery model university wide to build a culture of quality career development practices.
- Develop procedures for frontline, self-help and individual case-managed services, and service delivery to meet the growth of online students and to meet client career readiness.
- Plan and coordinate career interventions to meet the career development needs of diverse client groups, university wide.
- In consultation with the Team Leader, Career Services identify barriers to career development, plan and implement appropriate strategies to improve student learning and refer as appropriate.
- Manage relationships effectively and productively across the spectrum of careers services stakeholders.

Qualifications
Completion of a post graduate qualification in Careers and relevant experience
