About the position

This position will assist the Division to progress the three core responsibilities of “Client Relationship, Custodianship and Compliance” pursuit of this aim. Reporting to the Senior Lead, Procurement & Business Operations, the Business Support Officer’s primary purpose is to conduct tactical and business support activities, including fleet, travel support and ensuring compliance with La Trobe policies and guidelines, also support day-to-day Procurement Operations including vendor maintenance, purchase order maintenance and corporate card administration and support.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have

  • A relevant qualification with subsequent relevant experience to consolidate the theories and principles learned or be able to demonstrate an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge and experience in purchase requisitioning and vendor master data maintenance.
  • Be a strong team player.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
  • Be self-motivated, solution-orientated, and have a positive can-do attitude.
  • Organised, dependable, focused, and disciplined.
  • Demonstrated competency with procurement enterprise systems (e.g., ERP systems, e-Procurement tools, SAP).
  • Competency with productivity tools (Microsoft Office e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Demonstrated ability to gain a conceptual understanding of relevant policies, procedures or systems and interpretation in the application of policy and/or precedent.
  • Ability to innovate and take responsibility for outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and monitor workflows within own area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated capacity to organise work effectively and efficiently and deliver outputs in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, follow established procedures with limited supervision and contribute positively to an effective team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated customer service focus and solution orientated approach.
