  • Commencement Salary: $101,110 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role

The Business Partner is the key conduit between Student and Academic Services (SAS) and Academic Units. This role is responsible for establishing professional work relationships that facilitate the implementation of strategic objectives and activities. The position is also responsible for the effective leadership of the SAS Campus Team and its functions, which involves the provision of high-level expert advice and support in relation to academic and student administration to key stakeholders and the provision of specialised support to the Academic Units for program development and review, admissions, and credit assessment and articulation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for a diverse range of business services relating to academic, student and international administration with a focus on continuous quality improvement
  • Partner with Academic Units by providing critical comment, advice and briefings for senior stakeholders, on strategic and operational issues and the application of relevant University policies and procedures
  • Build relationships based on trust and expert advice which enable SAS to positively influence and contribute to the AU strategic activities
  • Manage the selection and admission of all students in line with the University’s load planning principles and relevant policies
  • Oversee the credit assessment and approval process for individual applications and provide credit articulation and pathway recommendations

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Experience in leading and managing a collaborative team including fostering an effective service orientated and continuous improvement culture
  • High level interpersonal skills, including demonstrated negotiating skills when working with senior staff on complex and sensitive issues
  • Experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of business and operational plans
  • High level strategic thinking, planning and analytical skills to provide recommendations on strategic and operational matters
