  • Full time and 3-year fixed term appointment 
  • Salary range: Level 9 $ $119,390 - $126,335 p.a. plus 17% superannuation  

The Cooperative Research Centre for Transformations in Mining Economies (CRC TiME) is an independent, not for profit, research organisation driving transformational change enabling regions and communities to transition to a prosperous and sustainable post-mine future.

To support this purpose, CRC TiME is a unique partnership of over 70 leading mining companies, mining equipment, technology and services (METS) companies,  regional and community d organisations, governments and research partners. CRC-TiME is co-hosted by the University of Western Australia and the University of Queensland with offices in Perth and Brisbane and has ‘regional hubs’ in key mining regions.

About the opportunity  

As an integral member of the management team, this position offers you the opportunity to lead and manage the corporate activities of the business. Specifically, this position has responsibility for the financial, employment and contractual affairs of the Company, liaises with CRC TiME staff and its corporate member organisations.  

You will also have a significant role in developing the financial and management accounts for the CRC and the Board as well as act as Company Secretary providing expert advice on corporate governance issues to the Chairman and Board Directors. Candidates without the experience appropriate for the role of Company Secretary may still apply, with training or external support opportunities then considered.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Extensive administrative, finance and business management experience
  • Strong leadership and management skills with previous experience of business development, budget and financial management, employment and contract management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to problem solve and establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Initiative and achievement in managing businesses with an outcomes focus
  • Ability to strategically lead and drive teams and projects
  • Sound commercial acumen
