Your new role

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our Commercialisation team and work closely with leading researchers to commercialise their innovations.
In this role, you will have the chance to support the achievement of outcomes within a variety of projects with a focus on Curtin’s Health Science and Medical technology research and innovations space.
You will also be involved in a number of programs and initiatives we have established to support innovators and their start-up companies. To find out more, please visit https://engage.curtin.edu.au/entrepreneurs/.
To be successful in this role, you will be an expert problem solver and creative, big-picture thinker who will be proactive and energetic in your pursuit to help Curtin researchers develop business solutions to real world problems.
Your genuine interest and excitement in this work, together with your demonstrated commercial acumen; experience in commercialisation pathways, active listening, communication, relationship building and problem-solving skills, will enable you to work effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders of all backgrounds and organically bring people together.
Please note you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.

The Commercialisation team at Curtin works with researchers, investors, and industry partners to take Curtin innovations, assess their commercial potential, and find the best ways of bringing them to market.
Innovation, entrepreneurship, and commercialisation are fundamental elements of the Curtin research mindset. We have a growing cohort of researchers who are engaged and interested in commercialisation opportunities. We’re supporting these researchers and their collaborators through a range of mechanisms that enable and foster their ideas from conception to commercial success.
