About the role

The School of Culture, History & Language (CHL) is seeking an experienced administrator and coordinator who can provide high-level support for a diverse range of education, events and marketing activities.

CHL is looking for an experienced Business and Events Support Officer to join our friendly and fast-paced team.  The Business and Events Support Officer will provide general organisational and administrative support, contributing to the efficient coordination of the education and event and marketing activities of the School through liaising with staff and students and providing advice and assistance on a wide range of education administration, marketing and event-management matters.

The position will assist with school web development, events (including in person and online seminars, conferences, flagships and workshops), publications, multimedia content creation and media outreach. 

The Business Support Officer will undertake a broad range of administrative tasks relating to education and outreach activities of the School, providing support to a variety of School stakeholders, including staff, students and visitors. They will work in partnership with School administration team members and with colleagues in the College and Central University Services.  

Our ideal candidate

Our ideal candidate is someone with experience in an administrative role within a complex organisation, specifically in academic coordination and administration, events and marketing.  We are looking for someone proficient in MS Office, data management platforms and design software programs such as Adobe Creative, MailChimp and social media platforms. The ideal candidate is someone with communication and interaction skills, great organisation skills and confidence in delivering high-quality outcomes across a wide spectrum of tasks.
