Exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst within the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC). 

The Business Analyst role, under limited direction, collaboratively contributes to processes and frameworks to assist SATAC to deliver projects and system related change efficiently. The role also works with stakeholders and SATAC’s management team as a trusted advisor and negotiates the effective use of SATAC’s resources in relation to features and functions of SATAC’s systems. This role would suit an experienced individual who is able to use their communications and analytical skills as part of a team to improve business systems and customer processes.

The Business Analyst works within a team of Business Analysts in the Change Delivery Hub but has a dotted line reporting to the Manager Direct Application Services and/or Manager, Shared Application Services through a matrix reporting relationship. The Business Analyst supports the design, configuration and implementation of features as required by SATAC’s departments, and adheres to quality assurance processes within business systems and projects. The role also supports Architecture and Development to deliver on its agreed roadmaps through consultation with stakeholders. 

To be successful you will need:  

  • Demonstrated experience in BABOK based business analysis, including problem diagnosis and resolution, and formulating procedural and programming specifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in project work, including planning, needs analysis, quality control and delivering measurable outcomes. Ability to be involved in several projects at the one time.
  • Excellent communication skills in addressing both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience in querying and analysing data held in a relational database and business intelligence tools, specifically Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Demonstrated ability both to work as part of a team and to exercise initiative and to undertake a leadership role when required.

The South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC) Limited provides reliable, efficient and innovative tertiary admissions services to its member institutions and on a fee for service basis to other tertiary education institutions in South Australia and the Northern Territory.  

SATAC manages centralised application and admissions processes on behalf of its members and participating fee for service institutions, as well as administering admissions aptitude tests, providing publication and research services, and acting as a one-stop shop for queries regarding application processes and outcomes.
