This role is based in the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) Change Team who provide change management expertise and advice to project teams, uplifting the maturity of the design and implementation of change management initiatives across the portfolio and creating greater visibility of the level and impact of change within and across the university.

Why your Role Matters
As a Business Analyst (Change) in EPMO, your focus will be defining organisational and business requirements and developing effective solutions, through analysing business operations, to identify areas of improvement. Your work will be providing recommendations to improve practices and processes and contribute to culture of continuous process improvement. You’ll be working with project leads to minimise business disruption arising from stakeholder interactions by examining processes holistically to understand the impacts of change on people, strategy, systems and general business operations.

Day to day includes:

  • Conducting needs analysis and assessments.
  • Gathering business requirements for programs of work by drawing upon effective practices.
  • Conduct data and process mapping and analysis, and provide data quality improvement recommendations.
  • Gather, evaluate and document functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Preparing solution designs, proactively identifying and assessing alternatives.
  • Develop process maps of ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ processes using Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) .
  • Conduct financial and operational modelling to provide financial insights and metrics that help decision making.

In this role you will collaborating with project teams to identify and map project and program change plans and business impact and reporting to Business Analyst Lead  (EPMO) to ensure adherence to business process modeling framework.

Skills and Experience summary: You will hold a relevant business, accounting, finance or a related field, and has or is pursuing Certified Practitioner in Business Analysis (IIBA or PMP), or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through education/training/experience alongside:

  • Demonstrated experience with business requirements and process analysis.
  • Knowledge and understanding of business processes within a tertiary education environment, and change management principles.
  • Experience identifying and mapping ‘As Is’ and creating ‘To Be’ business processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying lean six sigma skills (Certification desirable).
  • A strong analytical mind with proven capacity to critically evaluate information from various sources and translate and present for general understanding.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with proven facilitation skills (workshops with diverse groups including vendor, technical personnel and end users).
  • Advanced skills in the use of standard office toolsets including word processors, spreadsheets, drawing/diagramming tools (such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Viso).
  • Strong time management and organisational skills and managing competing deadlines according to project timelines.
  • Excellent relationship, negotiation and communication skills, comfortable liaising and collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups.
