BUSINESS ANALYST

STUDENT ADMINISTRATION

  • Work with stakeholders across the University to perform business analysis tasks
  • Manage Project documentation including process maps, business requirements and functional specifications
  • Full-time one-year fixed term contract in North Sydney

The Student Administration Directorate supports the University's academic decision-making processes through academic policy formulation, providing operational support for student and academic-related administrative matters, and delivering process improvement initiatives to improve the student and faculty user experience.

Fulfil the role of Business Analyst on development, maintenance and upgrade projects. Prepare and manage project documentation including the creation of process maps, business requirements, functional specifications, testing documentation and other project documents as required.

Work with staff from across the University to perform project tasks such as gathering business requirements, writing test plans and user acceptance.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Translating conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to the project team
  • conducting systems and business analysis of user requirements, system design and implementation testing and training
  • Liaising with system users and coordinating workshops as may be required to document detailed business requirements
  • Contributing to systems development projects including the creation of project plans, timelines, implementation strategies, project documentation and quality assurance

You will need to have:

  • Education, training and/or relevant substantial experience equivalent to the completion of a Bachelor's Degree with appropriate work experience
  • Experience in creating process maps to support IT systems development
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering stakeholder centric services and keeping stakeholder interests at the core of business decisions to maintain service excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan work activity, priortise time and resources using established processes and technologies to achieve optimum efficiency and effectiveness

Total remuneration valued to $107,300 total rem - $116,130 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $90,670 - $98,131 (pro rata) pa (Higher Education Worker Level 7), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
