The Audio-Visual Technician position is vital to the success of everyday teaching technology at the University of Adelaide

Working under general direction, the Audio Visual Technician provides support, maintenance, and commissioning services for audio visual equipment in common teaching areas, meeting rooms, labs, and other facilities at the University. The Audio Visual Technician also provides support and oversight of audio visual equipment and resources for events.

This is a customer-facing position, responsible for promptly responding to and resolving technical AV incidents and communicating resolutions to end-users via email, phone, and in-person meetings. Utilising the latest education technologies, the position is critical to supporting the University in delivering world class education through its online platforms and across multiple campuses in South Australia.

To be successful you will need:

  • Experience in a AV or IT technical support role.
  • The ability to read, interpret, and document Audio Visual plans and schematics, including excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of enterprise IT systems, including enterprise networks and their configuration for an AV environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of common software packages: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio (preferred). D-Tools or other schematic CAD an advantage.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely with customers and co-workers, both verbally and via email or universal collaboration platforms.
